The number of racemes that had one or more open, untripped flowers in bloom is
plotted over time since the bees were released in 7 commercial seed fields in
1995 (Strickler and Freitas, 1999). Results demonstrate an initial burst of
bloom, followed by an exponential decline in number of open flowers available
for foraging bees.
