Notes:

A grower once asked me why my position is called “pollination ecology”. “Ecology”, often associated with environmental activism, has a bad reputation among many growers.

I wasn’t involved in deciding on the job title, but I like it.

What I like about this title, Pollination Ecology, is that it emphasizes interactions and relationships, rather than isolated entities. Thus, the position is not just bee management; it also involves the relationships between the bees and the alfalfa plants, pest species, and the grower’s cultural practices.
